Eva B. Café-Boutique.

Sorry for the lack of updates! I've been busy working.

A couple of days ago, my sister and I went thrift-shopping. The store is called Eva B. and it is located on St-Laurent Street. It is a pretty known thrift shop in Montreal.

*The entrance of the store

I really like the store because it has a friendly atmosphere. As you go in, they would always offer you something to drink or to eat. There are also places to sit and to hang around. They sell all sorts of things: pieces of clothing, jeweleries, books, costumes, etc. You can find absolutely EVERYTHING in it. Even though it is known for being a thrift store, Eva B. still sells new and unworn clothes.

We didn't stay there for long. I tried a pair of pink jeans but they didn't fit me and I didn't really keep looking for anything else.

*Some of the masks they have.

*Everything in the messy pile of clothes at the back of the store are all $1!

If you are interested in checking out the store, the address to Eva B. is:

I'm Back!

I know I know, I've been away for a while. After a few days, I finally got my internet back! In Montreal we had a storm a few days ago, the electricity at my house snapped for a second and my internet and home phone then stopped working. My parents have tried to unplug, to replug the internet DSL and blablabla and everything but finally we had to call the technician. We finally got the internet back yesterday!

As for me, I've been busy working. I'm already done with school :) Now I basically spend 5-6 days a week at Tommy. Today was a day off for me, so I thought of posting something here so you guys could be reassured that I'm still alive, haha.

Hopefully you guys are doing alright as well <3

P-S: Just thought to share a typical conversation that usually occurs about 10 times a day at Tommy that annoys the hell outta me:

Janet: The total comes up to ___ $
*Hands the client the credit card terminal*
Janet: Press "F1" to confirm the price, then enter your NIP.
*Client presses "OK" 5 times*
Client: It doesn't work.
Janet: I SAID PRESS "F1"
Client: Oh, okay.

Oh yeah, so basically I was just talking to the air, eh?

Never Say "No" To...

Macaroons!!!!

These are macaroons from Patisserie De Cascogne. It's a pastry from Montreal founded in 1957 and it is still one of the best known pastries in town. Oh how delicious they look!

I've eaten only the strawberry one :) It's absolutely yummy! If you've never eaten one, you should DEFINITELY try.

Anyhow, it's been a good weekend. I've taken the weekend off since I'm sick, but I went to the doctor and she said I'll be all good in a few days. I studied alot and today I went to the library as well.
4 days of school left for me, I can't wait for summer vacation!!!!
I hope you guys had a great weekend! <3

You Will Never Be.

Recently I have been listening to a song on repeat. It's called You Will Never Be by Julia Sheer. She's a young talented artist who shares her music through YouTube. If you have time, check out her YouTube channel!

I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do.

Happy Tuesday!

The city of Westmount.

Since it was a pretty sunny day on Tuesday, my sister and I went walking in Westmount Park. Westmount is a city in Montreal not too far away from downtown. It is mostly a wealthy residential area. My elementary school was located there so walking in Westmount Park again brought back many memories.

Oops this one's a little bit blurry; I was walking and trying to take a picture at the same time. (I'm the one with darker brown Oxford shoes!)

My friends and I used to go there even after the curfew, (we were like, 10 years old?) just thought it would be cool to do something illegal and not get caught.

Selwyn House School: a private independent boy's school (for Kindergarten to grade 11), seeing them going in and coming out of there reminded me of Gossip Girl, yep even little 7 years old boys have to wear ties! And after school, you'd see all the parents waiting out there in their Porsche and BMW's to pick them up.

Westmount Public Library: it's a very beautiful library, it's not very big, but usually it's not crowded.

During summer, it's a actually surrounded by water. And now they cut down the tree in the middle, the tree's probably too old and cracked. I used to climb up on the tree and read there all the time.

As you can see, it's already April but I'm guessing we're still far away from having a 30 degrees Celsius day. In fact, it's snowing today... :( awww I hope you have a better weather than me, wherever you live!

PS: Happy Easter! Enjoy your long weekend. As for me I'm working Friday, Saturday and Monday... how fun.

@ Starbucks.

Quick post today! Right now I'm mostly busy with school, but I'm still going to try to update as much as possible.

If you had been reading my blog, then you would know that I love to study in coffee shops. So on Monday I went to Starbucks in downtown to study! It had been a productive day.

But the sad news is that my sister actually got her Coach wallet stolen IN that Starbucks. We didn't really see who took it, but we stayed there the whole afternoon so it must have been someone who took it (We suspect one of the Starbucks workers... but that's another long story). She had EVERYTHING in that wallet so it really sucks for her =/..

Hope everyone had a lovely Tuesday! And for the students... well, keep studying! <3

Tommy Hilfiger...

…is where I work. Or should I say, for whom I work.

Yup, I’ve been working as a cashier at Tommy Hilfiger for about a year now. This is only my part-time job, since I’m still a full-time student.
Anyways, this weekend I’m working both days so I don’t really have time to study. Plus, tonight we have a meeting from 6pm to 9pm. (anything to procrastinate for school, WADDUPP.)

Tommy Hilfiger (Canada, I'm not sure about anywhere else) is not a job with commission, but there is an amount which we need to achieve by the end of the day. But since I’m the cashier, I’m really working without any pressure: I pass the clients and I answer the phone. Of course, we get crazy, weird, cheap-ass, bipolar, all-you-can-name-whatsoever clients all the time (like those who yell at me because our cashes don’t show clients the prices as we pass the clothes, so they decide it’s my fault, and as always, I tell them to go complain to Mr. Hilfiger / or those who complain about the prices and bargain with me, WTH you think this is New York chinatown or something?) but overall I like this job and I’m planning to keep it for a while.

All this being said, I gotta get my butt to work now (8-hour-shift today!), enjoy your Sunday everyone! <3

(Un?)Productive day at the library.

On Monday my 8h30AM German IV class was cancelled (hurrays!) but I still had to do my Spanish lab, so while waiting for the lab, I went to the school library to study a bit. Honestly I spent half of my time there just staring at the same page over and over again, and maybe another one third of my time napping. Let me tell you why:

Dawson College library is actually in a chapel (well at least it used to be a chapel), so the lightning is dim and the temperature in the library is constantly warm, which makes it an absolutely perfect place to nap.

Actually I was never really a library-person, I find myself being more productive studying at a small coffee shop or at a mall food court. I don't know why but being in the library just makes me feel so depressing and unmotivated.

Anyways I still got some school works done there (kinda), but as you can see, I ended up taking pictures.

For me, it's 4 more weeks before summer vacation! What about you guys?

Anyhow, good luck everybody for your finals!

*The stairs on the leftside lead to the 2nd floor which is connected to another building, so this is just a small part of the library.

Just your average Canadian girl.

If you grew up and/or live in Canada, then you would totally know what I'm talking about. Hockey. (Oh yeah, you heard, me, who says girls can't play hockey?)

Hockey is one of my favorite sports, both to play and to watch. I used to play street hockey very often with my friends back in high school. Whenever we got the chance, we would invite neighbors and whoever that wanted to play to join us.
I don't play much ice hockey. Mostly because I'm lazy to find an ice rink, and I'm not the best skater either. But ice hockey is 10 times more exciting and fun compared to street hockey.

What sports do you play? or do you enjoy watching?

*Nike Bauer skates

Canada Rocks 4 Japan.

The recent devastation that has taken in Japan had made us realize how lucky we are (I'm talking about Canada and all the countries that have not yet need to endure the suffering) and how grateful we should be.
The earthquake, the tsunami and not to mention the nuclear crisis that Japan had faced are a tragedy. But at the same time, it is an indication and a calling for us: it is time to step up and support.

There is one way you can help those who are less fortunate.

Canada Rocks 4 Japan is an organization created to raise money for disaster relief in Japan. It is also associated with the Canadian Red Cross organization. At this Benefit Concert, Canadian artists (including Justin Nozuka, Karl Wolf, and many more!) are gathered together and will perform for this great cause in hope of raising funds.

Canada Rocks 4 Japan Benefit Concert takes place on April 14 2011 at 11 Polson Street, Toronto, Ontario.
The tickets are on sale now.

For more information, you can visit the official website.

I, due to the inconvenience of transportation (I live in Montreal, Quebec so it's about 6-7 hours drive to Toronto) cannot unfortunately attend this event. But hopefully this has helped you to learn as an alternative way to help Japan.

17 days without Facebook…and still counting!

I have deactivated my Facebook account a few weeks ago. The main reason being that: I spend way too much time on it. Seriously, I was so addicted to it, to the point that I actually press “Refresh” every two minutes on my homepage to see some news feeds. And I would stalk people (Yes! Stalk, ha c’mon now, don’t tell me you don’t!) and even strangers.

The first few days without Facebook was hard. Everytime I opened my Google Chrome, my fingers would automatically type www.fac...... Then it would take a few seconds for me to realize that I have deactivated it! Then I would (feeling slightly sad, of course) close the window and look for something else to browse.

I am actually not really planning on reactivating my Facebook account anytime soon. I mean, surprisingly, I don’t need Facebook as much as I thought I did. I used to think I absolutely needed it to be able to contact with people. Facebook inbox is so effective I usually would just use it to send messages. But now that I think about it, if you ever really needed to contact me, I still use my e-mail, as well as my cell phone, so there is no reason for you not to reach me! For those who think: “What if I don’t have your email or your number?” Well seriously then are those people really worth contacting?

Of course, this is just from my point of view. I still think Facebook is one of the greatest network websites ever invented! It is just taking up way too much of my time right now.

What are your thoughts on Facebook? Praise or trash?
